The Star Brewery Gallery was meant to open its doors on 28th March 2020 under the direction of Neeta Pedersen. Due to COVID-19, she was forced to close the Gallery. However, with her web design and social media skills, she decided to launch the Opening Exhibition she had planned online to keep the awareness of the new Gallery alive. She built an online gallery showing paintings by three exceptional local artists – Peter Messer, Andrew Fitchett and Tom Benjamin.

The Star Brewery Gallery Situated in the centre of Lewes, the vibrant county town of East Sussex, and housed in the renovated 18th century brewery building, the Gallery’s multifunctional space is ideal for displaying not only traditional and contemporary art and sculpture but also installations. We aim to present an exciting and diverse programme of exhibitions to satisfy all tastes and host exhibitions by local, national and international artists, both established and up-and-coming.
The Gallery is also a short walking distance from a wide range of Lewes’ other attractions which include the Norman castle and an interesting array of atmospheric coffee shops, pubs and restaurants as well as bookshops, antique markets and unique independent shops.
